A cloudscape hangs in the container, made entirely from 1000 coffee cups, which creak and clink against one another in a domestic evocation of Aotearoa (The Land of the Long White Cloud) and Wellington’s volatile weather. A poetic and playful installation from Arcade new-comers.
In this installation I volunteered my time, helping to install the 1000 cups!
EMOTICONS/ANNA HUNT/2013/INSTALLATION
Emoticons is a performance piece that was featured in The Performance Arcade 2013. As part of The Livelab Series, Emoticons is of a mute, static crowd of depersonalized figures. Paper bag masks are worn by performers who are still and silent inside the shipping container. The audience can interact by grabbing their own paper bag mask to wear and join the mute performers. Therefore the masks are in effect, taking away each person's identity.
In this installation I volunteered my time as a performer.
