WGTN LUX FESTIVAL
2013/INTERN/INSTALLATION/

INSTALLATION/BLEND/SABINE MARCELLS/ROB HEBING/2013
Blend is a kinetic sculpture created by Dutch designer Rob Hebing and Netherlands-based New Zealand designer Sabine Marcelis. It is a study into the creation of colour through the visual blending of a number of light sources. The kinetic sculpture comes to life when its handle is turned, and the 3 individual arms spin to create a complete colour wheel. One arm spins in Red, another in Green and the 3rd in Blue, where they overlap it creates secondary colours and the centre of the wheel becomes pure white.
As an intern for WGTN LUX I was responsible for collecting the artwork and fully installing it down Opera house lane. During the festival I maintained and then un-installed the artwork. Once it was all over I packaged it back up to send over to the Netherlands. The artists were unable to come over for the festival due to other commitments over seas.
